TV Guide's Best Kisses

TV Guide's ranking of the best 20 same-sex kisses puts Willow and Tara at the top of the list, as they deserve to be. L-Word kisses take up a few spots on the list-- this is the sexiest show. I'm still thinking-- should Tina and Bette get back together? Would you take Bette back?

I think they should get back together-- they're soulmates, but probably Tina will be bitter unless she evens the field somehow. I'm not suggesting that Tina sleeps with someone just to get back at Bette, but perhaps Bette could promise something else in exchange, or hire a sky-writer to declare her love in the sky. If it was me, and I did something horrible to upset Jenny, I could probably offer to go sky-diving to make it up to her because there's nothing in the world I'd ever want to do less, and I know she'd know I really, really love her, if I was willing to go skydiving. As it stands, I'm not in the doghouse, and I don't have to go skydiving. And, I'd never ever do anything bad, because I really don't want to have to skydive to make it up to her.

The question is, can Bette ever really make it up to Tina? Is there anything she can do that would make it better?

Real Estate in Inwood and Washington Heights

For Valentine's Day we went to 107 West in Hudson Heights (the part of Washington Heights that's near the Cloisters, on Fort Washington Avenue, around 187th street) and were again shocked at how the neighborhood's changing. Next to 107 West, the owners opened an organic restaurant called Healthy Habits, and it's really beautiful. Still... you can get pretty affordable apartments around here:

Lesbians, Santa Claus

"We don't want to violate the trust parents have with us," said Allan Pizzato, executive director of Alabama Public Television, explaining why he wouldn't have shown the program even if PBS had distributed it. "Parents can make the decision about when they want to talk about lesbian parents. If PBS sent a program down that said there was no Santa Claus, I wouldn't air that one either. Parents should make that decision, too."

-- NY Times

For non-Christian children everywhere, there is no Santa Claus. This country has written freedom of religion into the constitution. Not all children believe in Santa Claus, and not all children have heterosexual parents and our media should represent the diversity of this country.

And, why didn't Bush read my entry on Pell grants? In his state of the union address he said, "And we will make it easier for Americans to afford a college education, by increasing the size of Pell Grants." This contrasts what was reported just last November... "Brian K. Fitzgerald, director of the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance, which Congress created to advise it on student aid, estimated that the $300 million the administration hopes to save in the coming year will very likely mean that more than 90,000 students, largely among those whose parents earn $35,000 to $40,000 a year, would lose their Pell grants."

Americans aren't listening. Santa Claus doesn't really exist. I mean, even if you're Christian, reindeer don't fly. And if they did, we shouldn't be putting them to work carting gifts to "good girls and boys." Look at what's true, even if you like the lies, see the truth. It's okay that Santa doesn't exist, and it's okay that lesbians do exist! Tons of little Jewish (or any non-Christian religion) children are raised without Santa Claus and they turn out just fine. And tons of little children are raised by gay and lesbian people and they turn out just fine.

Who put this Allan Pizzato in charge of anything, anyway?
