Mayor West

The village mayor who challenged New York law by attempting to marry gay couples will face trial, the state's highest court ruled Friday.

I thought this was over last year when a town court judge dismissed the charges, but Ulster County Court Judge J. Michael Bruhn reinstated the charges earlier this year, ruling that the criminal case against West was not about the constitutionality of gay marriage, but whether West lived up to his oath of office to uphold the law.
