Rainbow Boys by Alex Sanchez, is another awesome example of a coming out novel for teens. A few ago I picked up a Gossip Girls book to read, and started the first paragraph, and all the dating/ sex (yes-- in a single paragraph) just made me want to read more LGBT fiction.
I can't wait until today's teens are voting age. How different will the world be, when teens growing up with these books become decision-makers and policy writers?
I know I just posted on this topic, but...
On my way home from work, a neighbor started muttering, "Are those ice-cream trucks?" she questioned people on the street. And then I noticed the ice-cream truck music from down the street. And a few of us neighbors nodded in agreement. I commented on the buds growing on the trees, and someone else noticed the birds singing in the morning. We all took off our coats. We talked about how we're running in the mornings in the neighborhood-- no snow, ice or cold to deter us.
So, what's up? Why didn't we have winter this year?
