March 27, 2004: Married!
Everyone (including us) should be allowed to marry who they love. In Spring 2004, when same-sex marriage became legal in MA, other cities across the US started marrying same-sex couples. Completely inspired by the activism and love, we finally came out to every single member of our families (Kate's Dad forwarded her wedding-invite email to the entire family-- cousins, aunts, uncles, everyone-- it was a giant mass-email outing, that wound up a great experience-- everyone welcomed Jenny to the family), and we signed-up for the list of people to be married in New Paltz.
Even with only two weeks notice, we got rings, dresses, a vegan wedding cake, and carpooled a bunch of family & friends upstate. Also, we were always out on our blog, but suddenly we were really out to the entire world! One of our
friends sent us these fantastic video game, gay-marriage greeting cards.
And we got some hateful comments on our site, but not that many. A week after our weddings in New Paltz, some hate groups drove up to New Paltz and protested the weddings, but for us, luckily, the whole the experience was fantastic and hate-free. It was all love, 24/7.

We got together in March 1996 and 8 years later, in 2004, celebrated our time together, and a future together.
How could anyone be opposed to this?
